Hey crafty people!
This month Tubby Craft turns 3! To celebrate we have lots of fun things throughout the month, including a competition where you could win an Amazon Echo Dot!! So be sure to check that out!
This month's Challenge Theme is Birthday and I'm back with three ways to get an ink blended background, and I turn them all into really simple Birthday cards.
You can check out both the competition and the monthly challenge over on our Facebook Group, Tubby Craft Exhibit.
Card 1
I started with a simple ombre blend of Aqua Blue & Turquoise inks.
Once this had dried, I ran it through my die cutting machine in an embossing folder, which is a super easy & quick way to add so much interest to a simple background.
I finished the card with a Happy Birthday die cut, some metal stud embellishments and white Nuvo drops.
Card 2
I blended Imperial Red, Tangy Orange and Lemon Yellow really gently, then once I had a light covering across the whole panel, I put the Striped Geometric stencil over the top and blended a heavy layer of each colour over the top. This gives a really cool two tone effect in each of the colours.
I finished this card with the same die cut sentiment and some white Nuvo drops.
Card 3
I grabbed Chinese Blue, Lavender Violet and Lilac Purple inks and watercolour paper this time. I swiped each ink pad across the paper directly, making sure to have some overlap between each colour.
Then I grabbed a mini mister that I have filled with water & Perfect Pearls powder and just spritzed it all over the paper. Once this dries, you'll find that it has blended the colours where they cross over, so you get a sort of faux watercolour wash effect but with a beautiful shimmer to it.
I finished this one with the same die cut sentiment and some black pearl embellishments.
Don't forget to join in the birthday fun with us,
Thank you for all the support you've shown Tubby Craft over the last three years, you're all the best!!
Stay safe, stay healthy and stay crafty, my friends!
Byeee!
